Radar Engineers - GMD Program
The Ground-based Missile Defense (GMD) Advanced Programs
group is seeking a radar engineer. The assignments for
this position are research, model and simulation
development, algorithm evaluation, and performance
analysis of RF sensors, ranging in frequency from UHF to
X band. Modeling and simulation will range from
low-fidelity (analytical) to high fidelity
(pulse-to-pulse), depending on the analysis requirement.
Performance analyses will be conducted at systems and
subsystems levels for varying environments and threats.
Candidates should be willing to develop proficiency in
using a variety of radar and simulation tools existing
in the missile defense community to support these
analyses if necessary. The position includes
opportunities to work independently and/or as a member
of an integrated product team to evaluate and/or enhance
radar performance in the areas of handover, acquisition,
tracking, feature extraction, and target classification
and discrimination. Additional activities may include
integration of radar models into GMD system simulations
to assess the impact of radar improvements and/or
upgrades on system level effectiveness.
Competencies:
REQUIRED: Active DoD Secret security clearance.
Knowledge of and/or experience in UNIX (Linux and/or
Solaris) and Windows operating systems and development
environments. Proficient in FORTRAN, C/C++, and/or

Field Engineer II, Radar

extensive travel (up to 100%) throughout the USA and the
